Frequently Asked Questions:

Functional Medicine is a science-based approach to holistic medicine that is focused on finding and fixing the root cause of disease.

Whereas standard medicine is focused on diagnosing and treating symptoms of disease (usually through medications), Functional Medicine is a forward-thinking approach to health that involves deciphering the root cause of health problems and working to fix the basic system breakdown rather than just masking the symptoms.

Functional Medicine is a relatively new approach to modern medicine and because of the overwhelmingly positive results, is quickly becoming the highest standard of care. With the help of Functional Medicine practitioners, many chronically ill patients have been able to realize a quality of life previously thought to be unattainable…a life free of chronic disease and medications with potentially harmful side effects.

Yes! Resolve Medical is the premier telehealth functional medicine clinic that is accessible worldwide. For years we have been consulting people all around the globe virtually and helping people achieve optimal health and wellness!

Our clinic does not bill insurance. Some lab work and medications may be covered. You can check with your insurance company to find out if your plan covers labs and medications.

Since every person is different, testing is based on individual needs and billed separately.

Our providers create a personalized diagnostic testing plan for you and offer access to cutting-edge functional lab testing that may include some of the following:

  • Micronutrients
  • Food & Chemical Sensitivities
  • Stress & Reproductive Hormones
  • Mold, Toxin & Heavy Metals
  • Stool & Gut Microbiome
  • Organic Acids Urine Test
  • Full Thyroid Panel
  • Genetics
  • Inflammatory Markers
  • Energy and Metabolism
  • DUTCH Test

We help you prioritize which labs will be most helpful for you based on your unique history, symptoms, and budget. We only recommend tests that we think you need and you only pay for the tests you choose to take.

Your provider will analyze your test results and then meet with you to discuss the results in detail so that you understand.

Most specialty labs are not covered by insurance, but you can pay with HSA or FSA funds.

Your insurance may cover some or even all of your customized functional blood panels ordered through Quest Labs. We cannot guarantee that your labs will be fully covered and it is your responsibility to confirm coverage and pay any difference. We have negotiated cash pricing with Quest Labs that is usually 80-90% cheaper than the insurance charge. If you would like to take advantage of this discount you will have to pay for the labs when they are ordered. Quest Labs will not allow us to switch to cash after we send the order through insurance.

While both paths offer extensive medical education, a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) provides additional benefits than a Medical Doctor (MD). Osteopathic medicine includes all the fundamental aspects of medical training—basic sciences, pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology—along with specialized hands-on techniques. This approach enables DOs to perform manual treatments on soft tissues, bones, and muscles, addressing conditions such as neck stiffness, misalignments, and joint pain in ways that go beyond the traditional training of MDs.

Additionally, the holistic philosophy taught in osteopathic medical schools is another key difference.

The focus is not solely on the condition but on the individual as a whole. This perspective considers the patient’s physical, emotional, and psychological struggles, as well as the impact on their family and environment. This comprehensive approach influences how DOs address the unique needs of each person they treat.
